Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone that structurally mimics luteinizing hormone (LH), the pituitary signal that tells the testes to produce testosterone and maintain sperm production. When men begin testosterone replacement therapy, the body's natural LH production is often suppressed through negative feedback signaling. By supplying an LH-like signal directly, hCG is designed to help maintain testicular size and endogenous function during TRT, supporting the body's natural steroidogenesis pathways within the testes.
